Bubble Spinner and Dorm Life
I have been playing bubble spinner almost nonstop the last few days. In fact, beyond jogging in the morning I havent left the house in the last few days. I am a completely and totally useless member society. Even though I don’t want to get a job, I feel like I need to get one for the sake of my sanity, not to mention for those collections people who keep calling me about that payment I...

Song Title Thingy
I saw Alex do this and I thought it was awesome so here I go, but with Tim Mcgraw….ha
Using only song names from ONE ARTIST, CLEVERLY answer these questions. Try not to repeat a song title. It’s harder than you think. Pick Your Artist: Tim Mcgraw Are you male or female: Angel Boy Describe yourself: I Do But I Don’t How do you feel about yourself: One of These Days Describe where you...

My Lucky Day
Yesterday Eddie and I trecked into the Flemish part of Brussels called Flagey. It was one of those days that you forget exists here in Brussels, what is it called…..um…..shit…..oh yeah sunny. This was a rare treat. So we walked for a couple hours until we were super far away from our flat, then decided to hit a pub and get a few beers. Well this particular pub didn’t have...

From lagers to ales
LAGERS
Lager is the most common, base level of beer against which all other brews are judged. Characterized by a smooth but crisp bite, it’s brewed over a four- to 12-week period in very cool temperatures using a yeast that ferments at the top of the barrel.
Pale The most popular style of lager, this beer has a clean, subtle, mild hops flavor and is...

The Famous Taddy Porter
Brewery: Samuel Smith Old Brewery Style: Porter Serving Type: 550 ml bottle Pours dark with a good tan head. Smells rich chocolate and caramel. Mouthfeel is slick, but when you swallow it’s a little bit cloying. Stays in your mouth. It has a nice chocolate malt aftertaste and is low in bitterness. It’s a great porter. It would have been a little better if it was colder I think, but what can I...
Samuel Smith’s Imperial Stout
Brewery: Samuel Smith Old Brewery Style: Imperial Stout Serving Type; 550 ml bottle WOW this beer is interesting. When you pour it looks midnight black and forms a two inch tannish red creamy head. Smells malty and sweet. It has undertones of chocolate, but there is a sharp alcoholic scent as well. This beer is 7% alcohol. Mouthfeel is quite good. Not too dry but definitely not cloyingly sweet....
Belgian White
Brewery: Blue Moon Brewing Company Style: Belgian Style Wheat-Ale. (witbier) Serving Type: Bottle Once again this is a pretty common beer and most people have had it. This is what a lot of people think of when they buy a “fancy” beer that isn’t one of the big 2 (previously the big 3) makers of megaswill. AB and Miller-Coors. I must say, this is a pretty good beer. Pours a golden orange color. ...
Sam Adams Boston Lager
Brewery: The Boston Beer Company Style: Vienna Lager Serving Type: Bottle
This one is pretty standard. Almost everyone has had a Sam Adams. Pretty much every restaurant and bar has it. Pours a light amber color with a little creamy head that doesn’t stick around. Smells very hoppy with some hints of phenyl alcohol. Mouthfeel is pretty good, just the right amount of carbonation. Tastes pretty...
Hoegaarden Original White Ale
Brewery: Brouwerij van Hoegaarden Style: Witbier Serving Type: Bottle I enjoyed this beer. Quite a lot actually. It was the first beer I bought legally on my 21st birthday. It pours a cloudy golden orange color with a thin head and some retention. It smells delicious. The nose had hints of orange peel, coriander, hops and light caramel. Mouthfeel was a little too carbonated for my liking. Overall...
Abbey Belgian Style Ale
Style: Belgian Dubbel Brewery: New Belgium Serving Type: Bottle I thought I might try some Belgian style ale because of my trip in a few weeks although I realize this is not imported. Anyway, I am not impressed with this beer. The nose was interesting, definitely some fruity esters mixed with a caramel, not hoppy at all, but it tastes worse than it smells. Mouthfeel was good although a little...
Cutthroat Porter
Style: Porter Brewery: Odell Brewery Serving Type: Bottle Picked up a 6 of this last night. Pours dark black with a quarter inch head. Good retention. The nose was a little sweeter than I expected from this porter. Smelled very rich with hints of smoke and chocolate malt. Mouthfeel was also substantially lighter than it seemed in the glass. It had a nice texture and was not cloying. Taste was...
The long forgotten tumblr...
So i just remember that I have this thing called a tumblr that i was excited about for a little while but have recently neglected. So I decided i would start using this as a place to do beer reviews because after the shitty day I have had I needed a beer, or like 3 six packs.

A job now>?
I drove to kansas city today from warrensburg to get bbq and it was an awesome decision. On the way back to warrensburg, but before I came back to columbia, Game Crazy called me and I have an interview with them on tuesday. I have mixed feelings about this. I don’t really know if I should tell them that I will be homeless come december 19 and thus could not contintue employment after that...
Peppermint Schnapps
Holy shit,
This stuff will mess you up. After casually killing a 30 pack with two friends yesterday afternoon we went on a beer run and got another 30 pack as well as a fifth of peppermint schnapps. We continued drinking the beer and eventually killed the schnapps. I did not realize it, but that stuff is 60 proof. And now I feel like crap…..the end…
Friday
I did not go to class today,
I had many things to do,
I don’t feel bad in any way,
I write this while I poo….
Just a little inspirational poem for you guys. Hope you like it.
No but really, I had a bunch of stuff for a presentation I had to do, and I have to go get passport pictures for my Visa application and finish filling out my international center paperwork. Then I have...
Ding..... 3rd Floor
I just got back from watching American History X with Eddie and his residents and the cultural discussion that followed was quite interesting. There was a lot of talk about racism. There were people of multiple races there; White, black, Hispanic, Asian. I think it is interesting how the presence of other races played a role in the game we were playing. In the game, a statement was read and you...
CNN
Was anyone else watching the coverage on CNN? It was ridiculous! They kept bringing up these graphics where you were like oh, really CNN? Do they really need a hologram as one of their featured graphics? And there was this one graphic where the guy pushed a button on the touch screen and a 3d image of the capital building came up and they started comparing red vs. blue congressional seats. Also,...
Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce
Is the best sauce ever. Sweet and tangy…..mmmm………I used to be of the chipotle sauce persuasion, but as of late, it gives me heartburn……hmm….that sounds like it could be the title of my next hit song……chipotle, a burnin’ in my heart. It would have to be a country song I suppose, with a Tim Mcgraw kind of twang…..yea….I like...
Damnit! The dead car chronicles....
As of late, I have been having quite a bit of car trouble, or to be more precise, car battery trouble. It seems every time I had planned to do something important, I would go to get in my car, and it would be dead….so yet again I would have to have someone take me too wal-mart and exchange my battery. (PS thank you so much to all of you who have helped me out recently!!) But alas, there is...

ADVERTISING
is awesome. It’s funny. I find myself paying way more attention to advertisements now than ever before; because of my classes. What I have to question though, is the fact that I never really paid much attention to them before now, which means, as an ordinary consumer, without the insights of the great MU school of journalism, would I still be so subjectively analyzing each...
A second point
As I reread the post I just made I realized that it came of sounding kind of uppity. I realize that people standing in line were thinking the same thing of us as we walked around the line. But what they were saying about us is, look at these guys, they think they are too cool to stand in line, or that by not standing in line they think they are proving something. I could definitely see that point...
Obama rally
Just got back from the Obama rally. It was pretty sweet, although I could barely see him from where I was. We eneded up standing against the road next to tiger plaza, which wasnt bad considering we didnt stand in line at all. Some of those people were crazy. Standing in line all day and for what? To see Obama speak for thirty minutes? I mean, it’s cool I guess, but I think people ended up...
Thoughts on the way to class
I was walking to class yesterday and it was a little bit chilly outside. I got to thinking, hmm, if I were to convince myself that this is a “finally spring” kind of chilly rather than a “hey its fall” kind of chilly it might feel good. So thats what I did. I took a deep breath of fresh air and said ahhhh, Spring!……..it was nice,….for a...
