Obama rally
Just got back from the Obama rally. It was pretty sweet, although I could barely see him from where I was. We eneded up standing against the road next to tiger plaza, which wasnt bad considering we didnt stand in line at all. Some of those people were crazy. Standing in line all day and for what? To see Obama speak for thirty minutes? I mean, it’s cool I guess, but I think people ended up getting in line earlier becuase it started to be a cool thing to do. To be that extremely passionate about it. Which brings up an interesting point. I think the Obama campaign has really done an amazing thing in making it cool to vote for him. I mean Mtv and some celebrities have taken up the rock the vote campaign in an effort to speak to the younger generation, but I think the Obama campaign is the first really successful one. Even on election day, I think it will be cool and trendy to say hey, I voted, and show off your sticker. And I don’t necessarily think this is a bad thing. I think everyone should vote, and I think it’s awesome that the power of something as fundamental to our government as voting can be seen by our generation as a point of pride.
