Beer Me

Love of beer exists beyond the pleasures of taste and of mind. It is a commitment to the art, the science, and the passion of its creation. From the lowly piece of barley destined to be malted, to the hops in a boil slowly being isomerized; love of beer is not a hobby, it’s a life choice.

Sam Adams Boston Lager

Brewery: The Boston Beer Company
Style: Vienna Lager
Serving Type: Bottle

This one is pretty standard. Almost everyone has had a Sam Adams. Pretty much every restaurant and bar has it.  Pours a light amber color with a little creamy head that doesn’t stick around. Smells very hoppy with some hints of phenyl alcohol. Mouthfeel is pretty good, just the right amount of carbonation. Tastes pretty hoppy. If you like a beer that is a little more on the hops side this is a good one. I personally like beers to be a little more on the malt side, but I do like this beer. The hops have a distinctive citrus flavor that comes from the cascade hops it is brewed with. Good to drink a few of but not more than that for me, it’s just too bitter. Overall I would say it’s a good go to beer at a restaurant that doesn’t have much of a beer selection.
