Samuel Smith’s Imperial Stout

WOW this beer is interesting. When you  pour it looks midnight black and forms a two inch tannish red creamy head. Smells malty and sweet. It has undertones of chocolate, but there is a sharp alcoholic scent as well. This beer is 7% alcohol. Mouthfeel is quite good. Not too dry but definitely not cloyingly sweet. Taste is less malty than I would have thought. Good amount of bitterness. Tastes pretty alcoholic, but not overwhelming. Pretty well balanced over all. For a person who is not crazy about stouts I definitely enjoy this beer.
